ATTENDANCE: KEY INFORMATION
Teaching in the college begins in accordance with the academic calendar of the University of Delhi. Each Department prepares teacher wise and paper wise workload for the next semester well in advance. It is scrutinized by the workload committee and then the time table is prepared and displayed on the college website and notice-boards.
All students of the University of Delhi, in order to be eligible for examinations, have to attend a minimum of two-third i.e. 67% of the total number of lectures and tutorials delivered in all subjects. The faculty of the college maintains regular, monthly attendance records for lectures as well as tutorials. The institution strives to keep the process as transparent as possible and students are encouraged to keep track of their attendance through regular contact with their subject-teachers.
The University Ordinance VII, Clause 2-A, Part (ii) states that the College shall have the right to strike off the name of a student who is irregular in attendance or when the absence of the student is for such a long period that he/she cannot put in the requisite percentage of attendance. These rules are strictly followed.
Each student who represents the college in competitive and extra-curricular events such as sports meets, cultural programmes is required to apply for permission. She shall be granted any kind of exemptions only after the consideration of the Principal. Students are advised to maintain a healthy balance between their academic and extra-curricular activities.
All cases for leave of absence due to medical reasons (sickness or hospitalization) must be supported by a medical leave and fitness certificate from a recognized medical practitioner. This should reach the Principal within a week of the student re-joining college on the expiry of leave.
