Admission on the basis of ECA (Extra Curricular Activities )

Admission on the basis of Sports

Some admissions are done on the basis of sports. 

Please scroll down for Dates and timings! Students should register themselves with the college along with attested copies of the sports certificate, newspaper reports and other relevant documents. Marks of Physical education will be considered of admission on basis of sports. Selection of the candidates will be done through a process of screening, trials and interview according to university norms. Practical/Coaching for Sports Category admission will start from (look below)

Sports trial(s) are postpond till further notification 

  • Admission on the basis of Sports will be finalized by the College on the recommendations made by the Committee consisting of the Principal, Convenor of Admission Committee, Lecturers in Deptt. Of Physical Education, some teacher and students associated with sports, one Delhi University sports council representative/nominee.
  • The Committee shall screen the applicants through an interview and ascertain their competence through an actual trial at the Sports Field.
  • The following will be the order of preference in selection of the candidates for admission for admission on the basis of sports.

Super Category: Direct Admission by the College without Trials

Sports persons who have participated / represented the country in the following competition(s):

  • Olympic Games by International Olympic Committee.
  • World Championships under International Sports Federations (IOA and / or MYAS recognized / affiliated Games).
  • Asian Games by Olympic Council of Asia.
  • Asian Championships organized by International Federation of concerned game / sport (recognized/ affiliated by MYAS and / or IOA ).
  • Commonwealth Games, S.A.F. Games and Afro-Asian Games.
  • Paralympic Games (recognized/ affiliated by IOC and / or MYAS)

II Admission based on Sports Trials

  • Maximum 50 Marks for Sports Certificates (chart enclosed).
  • It is essential for the candidate to qualify any two of the following Fitness Test items as per the standards laid down by the University (for the General Fitness):

1 Strength Standing broad Jump

1.15 mts for Women

2 Endurance

1000 mts Run / Walk: 6.00 min for Women

3 Speed

50 mts. Dash: 9.00 sec. for Women

Revised Sports Admission policy

The committee unanimously decided that the student may qualify for anyone of following fitness tests to qualify for chess, Archery and shooting:

  • 50m Dash
  • Standing Broad Jump
  • 1000m Race/Walk

The committee agreed that in case student qualifies fitness test, that college will issue a certificate in a particular format to the students. This certificate should be accepted in other colleges as well. The Format of the Certificate may be downloaded from DU’s website under web-link Sports Council. 
The College shall video-graph the Sports Trials. 
Maximum 50 marks for Sports Trials includes skill test, game performance test, game specific fitness, fundamentals of the game / sport etc. 
Test Brief: Test will be briefed by personnel(s) of the Department of Physical Education in concerned College before the Trials.

Composition of the Sports Admission Committee:

  • Chairperson: Principal
  • Convenor: Teacher in-charge Dept. of Physical Education
  • Physical Education Teacher(s) as Member(s)
  • One Expert nominated by College out of the confidential list given by Delhi University Sports Council.
  • Only one Faculty Member nominated by the Staff Council
  • One regular bona-fide sports-student representative (M/W for assistance)
  • One Delhi University Sports Council Representative / Nominee
  • One Vice Chancellor Nominee (as Observer)

Note:

  • Minimum 18 marks, is required to be attained by the candidate in Sports Trial for Sports Admission.
  • The number of seats reserved for sports in each College shall conform to University of Delhi regulations.

An undertaking shall be given by the finally selected candidates on Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 100/- that she will play for college and university, all the years, during her undergraduate course at the time of admission.

Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) Category

The trials for admission under ECA category is conducted by the ECA committee. In ECA category 5% reservation is provided on cutoff list.
