Department of Music

This department was established in the year 1973.Our students generally come from middle class background. Most of them complete their schooling in public/government schools of West Delhi, before coming to the college. Our average student generally has 73% marks in her 10+2 exams. Though the spoken aspect of language of our students is quite good, the written aspect requires teacher’s special attention to improve upon.By paying individual attention and using audio-visual aids.Presently, our courses are offered in semester mode only. From Monsoon, 2015 we are implementing CBCS at undergraduate level.

Our students have free access to the college library. The library is open on all working days. The Music section in the library is quite rich and the relevant Sanskrit books are made available to the students as well as teachers. Computers and internet facilities are also available. Moreover, the Department has a special music room equipped with various instruments.

The department has formed a society called Chetna for disabled students which organizes lectures/ workshops/seminars to develop awareness among students about disability issues.

Every year we held performances by well known artists, such as Debu Chaudhary, Savita Devi, Pt. Bharat Bhushan etc.The department organizes workshops/lectures demonstrations by eminent experts and performances.
