Basic Details:

Established in 1969, the Department of History is one of the college's oldest departments, offering courses in both BA (Honours) History and the BA Programme. The department is committed to creating a reflective and interactive learning environment, fostering critical thinking in students and helping them draw meaningful connections between the past and present. This approach not only equips students to excel in their chosen field of history but also empowers them to become informed, thoughtful citizens capable of contributing to the harmonious functioning of our diverse society.
The Department consists of highly qualified, competent, and dedicated faculty members who continually strive to elevate teaching standards in an ever-evolving academic landscape. Papers are thoughtfully distributed, aligning with each faculty member's area of expertise and specialization. At present there are 13 full time faculty members.
