Basic Details:

The Mathematics Department was founded in 1972 & the Honours Course in Mathematics began in 1993.
The Faculty strength of the Department is 12 out of which 7 are with Ph.D., 3 are with M.Phil. & 3 are pursuing Ph.D. The student strength is 250 (Approx.). Our Vision is to deliver a rigorous & comprehensive curriculum that equips students with strong analytical & problem solving skills & to prepare them for successful careers in academia & industries. Following are the missions of the department
1. Application of advanced mathematical knowledge in day-to-day life
2. To inspire a passion for the subject of Mathematics
3. Promoting Innovative research
Foster Critical Thinking & to build a diverse & inclusive community.

2. UG – B.A. (Prog.) Mathematics as Major & Minor (UGCF NEP 2022)
Besides these, the department offers the following courses :
1. Generic Elective (GE) to all Hons. & Prog. students
2. Value Addition Course of Vedic Mathematics to all Hons. & Prog. students
3. Skill Enhancement courses (SEC) to all Hons. & Prog. students.
4. Mathematics as Liberal option to B.El.Ed students
