Basic Details:

The Department of Political Science of our college was established in 1969. The department is very proud of the fact that its faculty and students add to the multitude of democratic voices and struggles that dot the country and do so by initiating debates and discussions within the classroom that often lead to mature and well-reasoned academic papers and eventually even activist work. The department conducts regular student’s seminars in each semester, sponsored by the department but organized solely by the students themselves. The department also organizes various events like lectures, workshops, 44 | Prospectus 2024-25 debates, quizzes, paper presentations, movie screenings etc. The department’s unique strength lies in training young women to think critically and analyze the world around them. Today, the department is a fine mixture of young and competent faculty on the one hand and the senior and experienced faculty on the other hand. The faculty has varied research and teaching interests and is keenly involved in academic activities of various kinds. The courses that students undertake engage both with theory and practice. Above all the department is actively involved in counselling the students so that they are able to realize their cherished goals
