The main motive of the workshop to aware the students about e waste management and how it is affecting
the environment and hence causing hazardous disease. The resource persons Ms Vanshika and Mr Abhinav
had an energetic presentation on the e-waste concept and problem in the waste management in India. The
workshop ended with a question answering session after that Tripti ma'am ( Convenor, Eco club ) thanked the
guests for such a wonderful workshop.
The workshop is followed by the e-waste collection drive in college premises for two weeks. It was a successful
event which made the students realized that the proper disposal of e waste is important in order to protect
environment from the hazardous effects of electronic wastes around us.

one could be able to protect the environment from the harmful effects of toxic compounds in electronic
wastes.

DURVA -The Eco Club, National Service Scheme(NSS), and Medical Committee of
Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi in collaboration with DEEP-C &
LUNG CARE FOUNDATION organized a workshop on H.A.W.A(Health and Air Pollution Widespread
Awareness)on 14th December,2022 to aware students the problem of air pollution and also helping
them to know what are the ways that create air pollution and how to make good things and
contribute in making our environment pollution free.
Firstly , the event started by welcoming Mr.Rajiv Khurana the Founder, Trustee of Lung care
foundation, Principal madam, and other speakers through the lightening of the lamp. After this the
keynote speakers Prof Jyoti Sharma and Ms Shipra misra had set the tone og the event and unified
the audiences.
Mr Khurana enlightened us about the problems of air pollution and appreciated the work done by
team members of Eco club as the posters which gave messages such as “Say no to plastic”, pollution
hazards etc. Khurana Sir showed how the indoor air that we are inhaling is so harmful to us through
air quality measuring devices. The index was around 250 and had experimented by burning camphor
and it showed how disastrous it would be to burn these things which are used in our daily lives. We
had done so many fun activities which gives us message to pull ourselves for the better of
environment. Sir had also provided us with the tote bags as a takeaway which is environment
friendly and also with questions and answer session.

“Ecoclub- Durva of SPM College celebrated the online poster making
competition on theme ‘Ozone for Life’ 16th October, 2022. On this day, various
students participated in poster making competition for creating the awareness
about issues related to ozone layer depletion and showcased their entries in the
form of posters. This event was successfully celebrated under guidance of
Principal Prof. Sadhna Sharma followed by Ms Tripti Anand (Convenor), Prof.
Meenu Aggarwal (Co-convenor) of Eco-club and also the members of the Ecoclub.
The Poster making competition was judged by Dr. Sanyogita Singh and Dr.
Shivesh Berwal, members of Eco-club. In this event, there were three winners &
one consolation prize was given to student. The first position was given to Vinita
from B.A. History Honours, second position to Nandani from B.Com Honours &
third prize was given to Anushka Singh from Applied Psychology Honours. And
consolation prize was given to Ishita Dubey from B.A. Political Science Honours.
Overall the event was a great success in terms of creating awareness about the
environmental issue.
