The Placement Cell of Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, in association with IMS Proschool, organized a financial planning workshop on July 29th, 2024. The session aimed to educate students on the importance of financial planning, the career path of a financial planner, and the practical application of key concepts like present value and future value. The workshop featured Ms. Zeal Doshi as the keynote speaker. Hosted by Ms. Ishika (President) and Ms. Ayushi (Vice President), the session introduced the agenda, emphasizing its relevance to current financial trends. Ms. Doshi outlined the career progression for financial planners, detailing the necessary qualifications, certifications, and skills required. She highlighted the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) registration process and discussed Proschool’s comprehensive training approach. The session was interactive and engaged 35 students, with Ms. Doshi explaining the use of checklists in financial planning to ensure all necessary steps are covered. She demonstrated how to tabulate findings to create effective financial plans. A significant part of the session was dedicated to practical exercises, where Ms. Doshi guided students through calculations of present value and future value, emphasizing their importance in financial planning. This hands-on approach allowed students to apply theoretical concepts to real-life scenarios. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the speaker, participants, and the Placement Cell team.

Our signature event, Hiring Hive, was a remarkable success and a significant milestone for the college. Thirteen esteemed companies were hosted on campus, offering a wide range of career opportunities. The event was meticulously organized, encompassing seamless student registrations, resume submissions, and a thorough selection process that included written tests, group discussions, and technical as well as personal interviews. This drive resulted in a notable increase in students securing internships and job offers, with many receiving placements from top-tier companies. The event showcased the talent within our student body and strengthened the college's relationship with industry leaders, setting the stage for future collaborations.

In partnership with IMS Proschool, we held an insightful Digital Marketing Workshop, conducted by Bhumish Seth, an entrepreneur with over 8 years of experience and the founder of Zimble. The workshop gave students a comprehensive understanding of the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape, equipping them with the latest tools and strategies for success in this fast-growing field. The interactive sessions and real-world insights made it a highly valuable learning experience.

We organized a Career Fair in collaboration with UpSchol, which provided students with the opportunity to connect with representatives from top universities. This event allowed students to explore scholarships, discover emerging career paths, and engage with representatives from leading institutions, helping them make well-informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.

Recognizing the importance of financial expertise in today's business environment, we organized a Financial Modelling Workshop with IMS Proschool, led by Robin Narang. The workshop offered students practical training in financial modeling, an essential skill for those pursuing careers in finance. The hands-on, industry-relevant content made it a valuable addition to our series of initiatives

To provide personalized career advice, we hosted a Career Counselling Seminar in partnership with the International School of Business & Media (ISB&M). Led by Neha Arora, the seminar focused on guiding students through the intricacies of career planning. It offered tailored advice to help students align their career goals with their academic strengths and personal interests.

In collaboration with the Institute of Banking and Finance, we organized a seminar titled "How to Become a Digital Finance Professional." Conducted by industry expert Amit Goyal, this session provided students with insights into the growing field of digital finance. Attendees gained valuable knowledge on the required skills, certifications, and emerging trends shaping the future of finance.
