  1. Indian Literature. Studying Indian Nepali writings vis-a-vis the emergence of Nepali/Gorkhali consciousness in the early-twentieth - century - Darjeeling Hills. Orality and print, study of travelling forms like sawai and lahari, martial music of the Gorkhas, Nepali print culture, the beginnings of Gorkhali theatre in Darjeeling. Tea garden literature.
  2. Narratology, the short story, Rhetoric & Prosody, Translation Studies, literatures of diaspora.
  3. Women Studies, New Media, Speculative Fiction and posthuman studies.
