The Library plays a significant role as a teaching-learning resource centre for the faculty and students. The SPMC library is technologically advanced, well-stocked and well-equipped with user-friendly access to information. Library membership registration, issue and return of the book are fully automated using Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) software, Alice for Windows since 2007. All the stakeholders are issued barcode identity card for library membership. Barcode reader is being used for the issued and returned of the books. It is fully computerized with the catalogue available in OPAC (On Line Public Access Catalogue) form for easy and quick access to all resources. Users can check the availability of books and journals in the library from various terminals, and then procure them for issue and reference.

The library has a rich collection of text books and reference material, which includes encyclopedias, yearbooks, dictionaries, atlases, general knowledge books, biographies, autobiographies and latest fiction in English and Hindi languages. Our collections include nearly 86469 books, 52 periodicals subscriptions (academic journals and magazines, 10 daily newspapers in English and Hindi, and electronic resources including online databases through UGC INFONET, N-LIST, CDs, DVDs, e-journals, e-books). A book bank that runs with the help of grants from IPS helps the students from economically weaker sections. It has a unique Braille books collection. Recorders and laptops with special software are issued to differently-abled students for the entire duration of their courses.

The library has 14 LAN connected desktops to access library software. The information centre has installed 22 desktops with internet facilities to access online/e resources available with the library such as N-LIST, NDL, NPTEL, UGC INFONET, INFLIBNET, CDs, DVDs, e-journals and e-books. Free access to more than 25000+ journals with abstracts and full text information, e-resources, lacs of e-books, e-databases are available through UGC INFONET & DU e-library . Delhi University Library Systems (DULS) has provided Electronic Resources Management Package to the library. The library is a member of National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST). To make more accessible to visually impaired students, the library purchased Kibo XS Talking Software for Visually Impaired . KIBO device reads and translates printed/ handwritten/ digital text in various Indian languages also stores them in pdf and audio files. It has a unique Braille books collection.

The library issues recorders and laptops with special software to differently-abled students for the entire duration of their courses. It has a seating capacity of 400 students. It has 4 spacious Reading Hall for students and a dedicated, air-conditioned Faculty Reading Room for teachers. All the three floors of the library premise are Wi-Fi enabled zones for its users, thus easing the accessibility of e-resources. The library organizes book exhibitions by publishers and distributors in the college premises for faculty and students.

The library has a built up area of  7116.32 sq.m. It has three floors: 

Ground Floor: The ground floor of the building consists of Librarian’s room, Technical Section, Circulation Desk, OPAC area, Reference & Text Book stack area, Braille Collection, International Punjabi Society Book Bank section for economically weaker students, and the Question Papers and Syllabi section. 

First Floor: Periodical Section, Information Centre (IT Zone for accessing E-Resources), Faculty Reading Room, IPS Book Bank Section and Gratis Books Section for donated Books , and Reading Hall. 

Second Floor: Circulation Desk for 2nd Floor Books, Reserve Books section, Two Reading Halls, Question Papers and Syllabi Section for Students, Separate Reading Room for B.El.Ed and B.Ed. Students, Stack Area.
