Grievance Redressal Cell

Under the UGC (Grievances Redressal) Regulation 2018, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College has established a Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) to provide a mechanism for addressing students' grievances and ensuring transparency in admission and seat reservation, fee structure and scholarships, distribution of exam hall tickets, conduct of examinations, prevention of unfair evaluation practices, delays in result declaration, issuance of certificates, and prevention of unfair practices, ragging, indiscipline, etc. Presently, GRC is composed of

  1. Sadhna Sharma, Principal (officiating) as Chairman
  2. Two nominated members: Dr. Rajkumar Falwaria and Dr. Anju Jain

The objective of this cell is to offer students an efficient and effective platform to address their grievances. The objectives of such committees include:

  • ensuring quick resolution of students' issues,
  • facilitating communication between students and the college, and
  • providing a free and fair platform to the students for expressing their grievances.

To ensure prompt resolution of students' grievances, the college has appointed specific nodal officers and committees to address various issues:

  • Liaison/Nodal Officer for OBC:  Dr. Virendra Yadav
  • Liaison/Nodal Officer for Pw. D Category:  Dr. Amit Kumar
  • Nodal Officer- North-East for Cell:  Dr. Houshou Suzen
  • Internal Assessment Committee
  • Examination Committee
  • General Elective Committee

Grievance Redressal Procedures:

  • Aggrieved students are required to submit their specific grievances in writing or via a Google form uploaded on the college website.
  • Upon receiving the application, the chairman of the Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) schedules a meeting within five days to discuss the grievance. All relevant documents are circulated to committee members prior to the meeting.
  • Committee members deliberate on the case, considering the applicant's grievance and institute's rules. The minutes of the meeting include brief facts, evidence, and final recommendations.
  • If the grievance pertains to the University of Delhi, the committee forwards it to the University for its earliest possible resolution.
  • The decision of the Grievance Committee is communicated in writing to the applicant promptly.
  • Applicants have the right to appeal to the Chairman within 15 days of receiving the written communication to her.
