The Department of Environmental Studies (EVS) also conducts internal audits and flora and fauna censuses annually. These audits help the college develop policies and programs to implement for further strengthen the institutional green and environment initiatives. They assess waste types and volumes, enabling the creation of recycling projects or waste reduction plans. These efforts promote health awareness and instill environmental values and ethics. Green audits provide insights into the impact of eco-friendly practices on campus and promote financial savings through resource use reduction. Transition to a Plastic-Free Campus: SPMC has been committed to solid waste management since its inception. In line with the Government of India’s initiative to ban single-use plastics, the college strictly prohibits the use of single-use plastics on campus to achieve a “Plastic-Free Campus".
