SPMC acknowledges the importance of adequate and updated infrastructure and physical facilities for quality teaching-learning. The college provides state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as accessible and convenient learning resources to students with 66 CCTV camera installed at strategic locations for security purposes. It has a total of 103 classrooms of which 37 are ICT enabled, 5 AC seminar halls, 2 multipurpose halls, 1 Auditorium having a capacity of 1200, two resource rooms, 10 laboratories of which 8 are air conditioned, and other specialized facilities such as 1 language lab, 4 AC work stations, one room for research and updated equipment for teaching, learning, and research activities. Classrooms, office and trees are installed Braille QR Code to make more accessible to visually challenge students. The college has a bus with a siting capacity of 40 which provides transport facility to the students during their field visit.
The college has a fully air-conditioned state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of over 1200 people, which is used for hosting the annual day and other college and inter-college events. The college plaza, located at the heart of the college, is the hub of cultural activities hosting events such as Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations along with nukkad natak, rangoli and other cultural events. Many cultural events are also hosted at Foyer, Multipurpose Halls, AV room, Gazibo, etc.
The college consistently works upon improving laboratory facilities catering to the requirements of students. Presently, Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Psychology, Geography, Food Technology, Human Development and Family Empowerment, and Education have their designated laboratories which are also utilized by students from other departments as per their course requirements.
The college has 2 AC staffrooms- one each in the new and old buildings and provides separate and dedicated work-stations for the faculty members to carry out studies and research.
Towards environment sustainability, the college installs rooftop solar panels having a capacity to generate 101 KW electricity. For uninterrupted power supply, the college has purchased a 380 KV silent generator.
The college has dedicated parking space for staff, common room for students, Students’ Union Room, one bank, 21 staff-quarters, one book & Stationary Shop, one Photocopy Centre, one language lab, spacious canteen. The college also provides separate rooms and spaces for various committees and societies to carry out curricular and co-curricular activities.
Sports Facilities
Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women Infrastructure campus is 10 acres of area. The Residential built-up area is 1 acre, Institutional built-up area is 4 acres and Recreational built-up area is 5 acres.
The Department of Physical Education & Sports are responsible for augmenting adequate facilities for sports and games by purchasing sports equipment, maintaining and upgrading the equipment and the allocated areas. On an average 600 students use the sports facilities available in the College on any given day.
