Career Counselling
The college doesn’t have a designated committee or mechanism committed to professional counselling in place. However, the in-house counselling is effectively done through various lectures, events talks and activities organised for the students by the departments time to time. The placement committee plays a significant role in informing students about various career related opportunities. The departments invite resource persons from humanities, science and commerce background to deliver lectures and talks which really helps students to decide about their career choices. A few departments also invite their alumni who have achieved in their respective fields to interact and mentor the students. Mentorship Programme, a brainchild of IQAC, is another initiative whereby the students are counselled about career related problems other than general problems. Remedial Coaching
The Department of English initiated a self-financed remedial coaching in the year 2017. The course was designed to help those students of the college who wished to improve their basic English language skills (writing, speaking and listening). The classes were scheduled in a way so as not to clash with regular classes. The department outsourced a professional English Language Trainer Ms. Dolly Dhawan, who is a teaching faculty at Salwan Public School, Pusa Road, and a retired faculty Ms. Kusum Virmani., who taught in the Department of English, SPM College, in the capacity of resource persons to conduct the classes in July -December 2017 and Jan-May 2018 academic sessions respectively. A nominal amount is charged from the students to provide remuneration to the resource persons.

Yoga and Meditation
The physical and mental well-being of students is an utmost priority in our college. Yoga and meditation are the key to relieve ourselves of the kind of mental exhaustion that has become rampant in contemporary society. The Department of Physical Education ensures that the students are encouraged to participate in Yoga and meditation activities organised all around the year in the college as well as outside the campus. Every year, on the occasion of Annual Sports day, our students put together a beautiful medley of aerobics and yoga in which more than 200 students participate. The Department also offers physical education as one of the Generic Elective subjects in which students learn about the benefits of yoga. Following the Prime Minister’s humble appeal, the college celebrates International Yoga Day every year on 21st June with youthful exuberance in which the principal, teachers and faculty members participate. A few departments of the college have organised talks and seminar on Yoga and Meditation to promote its benefits. Some of our students have brought laurels to the college by securing winning positions at various Yoga competitions. Currently the head of the sports department is Dr. Kavita.

Personal Counselling
The Department of Human Development and Family Empowerment has taken several initiatives to ensure personal counselling of students. Over the year a number of workshops, activities and events have been organised for the benefit of students. The Mentorship Programme, a quality initiative by IQAC, is another such program which ensures maximum reach to and one on one interaction with the students. The faculty members are centrally assigned their student mentees and students can reach out to their respective mentors for any number of problems. The objective is to provide them a safe and secure campus.
